The plan is a 1% yearly tax on net wealth above HUF 1 billion, about EUR 3.1m
It would count property, securities, financial assets and company stakes
Only Hungarian tax residents would pay. Holders of a temporary permit are not covered unless they meet residency tests such as 183+ days
The bill is due in parliament in October with the 2027 budget

That covers singles above EUR 250,000 and couples above EUR 500,000 of taxable income

Between EUR 40,000 and EUR 50,000 the deemed-expense allowance would drop from 85% to 70%
Between EUR 50,000 and EUR 60,000 it would drop to 55%, and contributions would rise
Expect about EUR 1,300 to EUR 3,000 more a year. The government wants it passed by December

Working parents could also deduct health, education and sports costs: EUR 2,000 to EUR 6,000 a year
The monthly food voucher limit would rise from EUR 102 to EUR 200 per employee
