Bulgaria plans to raise the VAT registration threshold to EUR 75,000

Mandatory VAT registration would start at EUR 75,000 instead of EUR 51,130, from 1 Jan 2027
That is good news for freelancers and small startups
Domestic e-invoicing would become mandatory from 1 Jan 2028
Public consultation runs until 23 Oct 2026, then the cabinet and parliament vote
